As I type this I’m holed up in our bedroom with Walt and the Newt while Ryan resorts to toxic chemicals in our kitchen sink.  This isn’t really as dreadful as it seems as I have Ryan’s laptop and a bowl of soup.  Also, a baby who is content with the constant feeding – so [...]

Dinner

Tonight I ate:
- original Kraft Dinner
- pink jumbo freezee
- a handful of jalapeno cheddar chips
But what I really wanted was 4 margaritas.  I’m not entirely convinced that the former is better than the latter.

Okay, I know that Gypsies are real people, who’ve had very real struggles (and still do), but for some reason, in Canada, we feel far enough removed that they are ranked among pirates and cat-lovers.  Therefore, mythical or only existing in the ancient past.

A few years ago Ryan was telling me about a discussion he had in his Victorian Literature class.  While relaying the story he used the phrase, “the female gaze.”

My Olympic Proposal

I’m a bit finicky about the Olympics.  I’m all for athletics and pride and breathing; however, I have a bit of a problem with excessive spending when apparently Oprah says there are still poor people.
My problem with the Olympics is that the moment I become invested in any athlete there is a strong likelihood that [...]

I love Martha Stewart. This isn’t a surprise to most, but I was reminded of the specifics today.
I don’t have cable but this morning I realized that one of four of my antenna channels carries Martha Stewart and I caught the end of her show. She dedicated the last ten minutes of her [...]

This is a picture of my foot. It’s also a picture of my first pedicure. And it’s a picture of the way I sabotage everything good in my life.
I received the pedicure on Wednesday. On Thursday, Ryan and I went to get tetanus shots in case we step on anything medal while [...]
